Designed Around Driving Beam Performance

Radar was developed for drivers who need wide, stable visibility instead of a narrow long-range hotspot. The goal was to create a driving light that feels natural behind the wheel — clear near-field visibility, broad road coverage, and smooth illumination that stays usable at speed.

Rather than focusing only on distance numbers, Radar was built to improve real driving confidence on trails, highways, mountain roads, and long overland routes.

Reflector-Directed Optics

Unlike traditional forward-facing LED layouts, Radar uses a reflector-directed optical architecture where the LEDs work alongside the reflector geometry to shape and distribute the beam more naturally.

This layout creates a wider and smoother driving beam with more usable light across the road surface and surrounding terrain.

It also helps eliminate the near-field dead zone commonly found in many high-output off-road lights. Instead of the beam starting several feet ahead of the vehicle, Radar provides illumination much closer to the front of the vehicle, improving terrain visibility and driver confidence in technical or uneven conditions.

Wide, Stable, and Easy on the Eyes

Radar is tuned to deliver a more balanced driving experience during long hours behind the wheel.

The beam pattern spreads light evenly across the driving area instead of concentrating everything into an aggressive hotspot. This creates a more relaxed and controlled nighttime driving experience while still maintaining strong forward visibility.

Radar works especially well for:

  • High-speed trail driving
  • Mountain roads
  • Overlanding
  • Rally-inspired builds
  • Long-distance nighttime driving

Modern Retro Character

Radar combines classic auxiliary light proportions with modern lighting details.

The reflector-focused optical layout gives the light a more vintage off-road and rally-inspired appearance, while the X-shaped DRL adds a modern visual signature without losing the rugged character of the housing.

The result is a light that feels both classic and modern at the same time.

Rugged Housing Construction

Radar uses a bulky, integrated housing shape designed to feel solid and durable in harsh environments.

Instead of exposing aggressive cooling structures, the rear housing maintains a more enclosed and planted appearance that fits naturally with heavy-duty off-road and overland builds.

The housing is constructed from die-cast aluminum with a matte black finish for long-term durability and corrosion resistance.

Multi-Point Mounting Capability

An additional threaded mounting point is integrated into the rear housing, allowing users to create multi-point mounting setups for extra stability in demanding conditions.

This becomes especially useful on roof racks, rally builds, and long-travel off-road vehicles where vibration control matters.

White & Amber DRL

Radar features switchable white and amber DRL modes, allowing users to better match different driving conditions and vehicle styles.

The DRL also includes a startup welcome animation that adds movement and visual character when the lights are powered on.

Built for Harsh Conditions

Every Radar light is rated IP68/IP69K for dust and water resistance.

The hardened high-transparency PC lens is built to resist:

  • Stone impacts
  • UV aging
  • Mud
  • Heavy rain
  • Long-term outdoor exposure

Questions? Answers.

Radar's beam pattern aims to provide you with usable driving light, illuminating a wide area while providing a solid hot spot, making it an excellent choice for enhancing nighttime visibility and ideal for medium-range lighting (300-800m).

Each time Radar starts, it displays a light sequence for about one second.

It is compatible with most off-road vehicles (ATVs, UTVs, trucks, SUVs, Jeeps) with flat mounting surfaces. For special models, custom brackets are recommended.

As a general guide, we recommend 7–9" pods near the front bumper for maximum forward illumination. Mounting larger lights lower on the vehicle can also help reduce unwanted glare.

3–5" pods work well on A-pillars, either aimed forward for more balanced coverage or angled outward to illuminate the sides of the trail and ditches.

Smaller flood lights, typically 3" and below, are ideal for side lighting around camp, rock lights, or rear-facing backup and work lights.

The best setup ultimately depends on your vehicle, mounting position, and how you use it.

In many cases, yes.

On a conventional multi-function light, each function is typically controlled by a separate positive wire. For example, a 4-pin light with a main beam, amber DRL, and white DRL may use three pins for those individual functions and one pin for ground. This can allow each function to be connected to a separate channel on a compatible switch panel.

However, some of our more advanced lights, such as the Hornet Series, use an integrated control module to manage multiple functions. Bypassing the supplied wiring harness and connecting these lights directly to a switch panel may cause certain functions to operate incorrectly.

For these products, we recommend using the supplied control system. If you still want an additional master switch, you may be able to control the main power supply through your switch panel instead.

If you're unsure whether a specific HIMA light can be connected directly to your switch panel, contact us before installation and we'll help you check.

For most installations—such as bumpers, roof racks, and existing mounting points—you usually won't need to make major modifications. The light can typically be installed using a secure mounting point on your vehicle together with the supplied bracket.

Some locations may benefit from a vehicle-specific mount. For example, if you're installing lights on the A-pillar of a Jeep Wrangler, we recommend using a dedicated A-pillar bracket for a cleaner and more secure installation.

Wiring requirements depend on your vehicle and where you mount the light. If the switch wiring needs to pass through the firewall, some vehicles may require a small opening to be made in an existing rubber firewall grommet.

If you're not sure about your installation, send us your vehicle model and planned mounting position and we'll be happy to help.

Yes. HIMA lights are designed for demanding outdoor environments and are tested to meet IP68/IP69K dust- and water-resistance standards.

They are suitable for use in rain, snow, mud, dust, and other typical off-road conditions.

If your light suffers water or dust ingress due to a manufacturing defect, please contact us and our support team will assist you.

The easiest way is to compare the real-world beam shots on each product page. They show how each light actually distributes light on the road or trail.

If you prefer to compare specifications, look at the 1 Lux @ Distance figure. A greater distance generally indicates stronger long-range performance.

For wider illumination, pay more attention to the beam pattern and horizontal coverage shown in our beam shots rather than distance alone.

Yes. We offer many replacement parts and accessories separately, including covers, mounting hardware, and selected installation components.
